My girls ate up Gwen's little kids and they fit right in with our crew.
We also got to go to the World Folkfest and see some great dances from all over the world!
These 4 are trying to squeeze in every second they can together and we have been able to spend hours and days getting our fill.
We decided that the best part of the folkfest was being together and the food.
Our first order of business when we arrived in Billings was to pack up and go camping!
Unfortunatly the weather didn't get the memo that we were going to Red Lodge and it was a chilly drizzly day. We had a picnic at a great wooden park and then headed up toward Greenough Lake in the afternoon.
We chose our camp spot based on the giant rock for the kids to climb. And climb they did, all afternoon!
Grandma and I set up camp and got the tent up right before the rain really hit!
We ate dinner in the rain (wonderful tinfoil dinners prepared in advance by a loving mother) and headed to the tent when it was still light, at 6. Sleep didn't come to the crazy tent until nearly 9.
The next morning we had plans for hiking and fun, but the rain came again just as we were finishing packing up the tent!
We drove up another canyon where the weather was a bit better and visited the Wild Bill Lake of my youth.
Until it started to rain.
The rest of the week was spent doing fun things around Billings.
The girls were excited to visit the horses.
And we wandered the property making a wildflower bouquet to drop off at Grandpa's grave.
Of course there was snake grass involved.
The girls were so cute, running around the cemetary collecting dandilions and mushrooms to add to the arrangment.
It was wonderful spending that time in Billings, probably some of the most care free i've had since we left Pittsburgh.
While the girls were gathering mushrooms they spotted a deer.
And spent the next 20 minutes trying to sneak up on it.
They would walk 3 steps and then squat and disapear.
We spent the evenings eating ice creama nd watching Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. We played at parks and slash pads, had picnics and even got to enjoy a visit from Grandma Sanderson!
The girls soaked up all the maternal attention and loved it.
