Weekend at the Cabin

Apparently nothing exciting has happened the last while. So here are some more pictures. We went and visited the family cabin a few weekends ago and had a great time. Alex loved playing in the rocks and running around. I enjoyed the zip line and the good food. Tyler had fun chopping wood. Susan took a lot of great pictures of the trees and flowers, and I think Pat just enjoyed being outside and playing with fire. It was wonderful to get out of the city and relax in nature again.



I crocheted (i have no idea how to spell that) this hat for Alex about 6 months ago, when it fit. But it got hot and she refused to wear it, until this weekend. It's too small, but cute.

The only other thing worth mentioning, is our new addiction to the TV show "Psych". All we have seen is season 2, and we are in love. So, if you have nothing to do, and it's on. watch it, it's hilarious.

It's so much harder to keep current with the blog since we don't have Internet. So while I had planned individual posts for just about every picture, you will just have to settle for this disjointed collection of photo's and comments.

Tyler took a much needed break from school last Thursday and took Alex and I Blackberry picking. I can not express how much fun we had. Afterwards I made a batch of Blackberry, Raspberry, and Strawberry jam (three separate batches). They are the best jams I have ever tasted. Also, we got a bunch of peaches from our friends the Hyer's, and with the help of Pat and Susan, made the MOST DELICIOUS PIE in the world. Peach Blackberry. It was heaven.


Alex knew just what to do, and picked all the reddest, most tart, blackberries.

The previous Monday Pat and Susan took us to the Soldier Hollow sheep herding competition. It was a blast, like nothing else I had ever done. I was just amazed at the whole thing. It was so fun to watch and there were so many things to do. Wow. wow, is all I can say.

And then there was Swiss Days!!!! A HUGE craft fair with lost of good food. Thankgoodness Grandpa came and offered to watch Alex so Susan and I got to enjoy perusing the crafts. Unfortunately everything was SO expensive and the place was really crowded, so we walked away with nothing but full bellies from some great Swiss Tacos.

There was an exhibit at the pillar, and Alex couldn't keep her mitts off of little Pompey and was all over that boy giving him hugs and kisses.

Super fantastic Devin and Kara came over to help me sand off the layers and layers of paint. Devin also glued and nailed all the broken drawers, making my 3 month project into a 2 day project. I am forever in your debt Gagons.

is it a Peach or a Butt?

This is the best copy we could get unfortunatly. We discovered accidentally (by trying to get Alex to say peach) that when Alex says Peach, it sounds exactly like Butt. You can sort of tell, i'm constantly trying to get a better copy, but she refused to perform when I have the camera.
